1:350 Scale Model Set "Paravanes for Bismarck, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, Tirpitz" (8 pcs) – SPALAH SP01653
Historical Reference Paravanes (protective underwater gliders) were specialized devices used by large warships for protection against moored contact mines. While the ship was underway, the paravanes were deployed off the sides on steel cables. Upon striking a mine’s mooring wire, the paravane would deflect the mine away from the ship's hull, while specialized cutters severed the wire, forcing the mine to the surface where it could be destroyed by gunfire. On German battleships and cruisers, paravanes were typically stowed on superstructures or near the main masts and were an essential detail of the deck equipment.
Set Information Kit SP01653 in 1:350 scale includes 8 highly detailed paravanes manufactured using photopolymer resin 3D printing. Unlike the standard parts found in plastic model kits, these SPALAH products feature crisp detailing of the stabilizers, cutting mechanisms, and the main body. Each model accurately reproduces the form and proportions of the actual devices used by the German Navy. The figures are supplied with supports attached to ensure protection during transport.
Purpose This set is designed to replace simplified stock parts or to complete the detailing of 1:350 scale models of German battleships and heavy cruisers (Bismarck, Tirpitz, Scharnhorst, Gneisenau, etc.). Utilizing detailed paravanes from SPALAH adds realism and a finished look to the model, highlighting the technical complexity of a world-class warship.
