The 1:200 scale "Bismarck Rangefinder Fire Control System" model set is a highly detailed aftermarket upgrade designed to replace stock components and maximize the level of detail on German Navy capital ships from World War II. This set allows you to replace simplified plastic parts from base kits and recreate the key elements of the warship's main battery fire control system with flawless technical and historical accuracy.
The rangefinder posts (Basisgerät) located on the armored command rangefinder tower (Kommando-Gerät) as well as the forward and aft superstructures of the battleship Bismarck played a decisive role in directing the fire of the 380 mm main battery guns. These rotating domes, equipped with large-base stereoscopic rangefinders, provided precise target distance measurements and data for the fire-control computer under demanding combat conditions.
The product is printed using high-precision 3D resin printing technology, allowing for the reproduction of the finest details: the distinctive shape of the armored domes, retractable optical heads, sighting ports, hatches, and periscope elements that cannot be achieved through traditional plastic injection molding. The set is designed as a direct and precise replacement for stock parts in Trumpeter model kits and includes 3 rangefinder assemblies, fully corresponding to the main fire control director positions on the battleship (forward upper, forward main deck, and aft).
For convenient transportation and the protection of delicate components, the kit is delivered with protective support structures inside protective boxes.
This set will make a fine addition to scale replicas of German battleships, raising their visual value and adding expression, depth, and technical authenticity upon close inspection.
