38 cm SK C/34 Main Gun Scale Model Set (Bismarck) — SPALAH (for Revell kits)
Historical Background The 38 cm SK C/34 guns were the primary armament of the Kriegsmarine’s most powerful battleships—the Bismarck and the Tirpitz. These artillery systems became a symbol of German naval power following the Battle of the Denmark Strait, where the Bismarck’s salvos led to the rapid destruction of the British flagship, HMS Hood. Their high muzzle velocity and exceptional accuracy made these guns some of the most effective naval armaments of World War II.
This set provides a comprehensive range of parts necessary to depict these turrets in both combat and transit (stowed) positions. It also includes various components to replicate the specific modifications made to the turrets throughout their service period from 1940 to 1941.
Model Information This set from SPALAH is designed as a high-tech replacement for the stock parts in Revell battleship kits. Utilizing advanced 3D printing with photopolymer resin, we have achieved a level of detail unattainable with traditional plastic: featuring open muzzles, detailed blast bags (mantlets), and precise hatches and rivets on the turrets. The key advantage is the perfectly cylindrical barrel shape and the complete absence of mold seams or flash, which is critical for components of this scale. For safe transit, the models are supplied in a protective box on technological supports.
Purpose This set is crafted for professional modelers striving for uncompromising realism. These guns are ideal for:
-
Replacing standard plastic barrels in Revell kits, which often feature simplified shapes or casting defects.
-
Super-detailing projects aimed at creating museum-quality models.
-
Dioramas depicting artillery duels or ships in port.
The high-quality resin surface ensures perfect paint adhesion and allows for the realistic reproduction of metallic sheen or mechanical weathering effects.
