Sukhoi Su-24 (name in NATO reports: Fencer) is a supersonic all-weather tactical bomber developed in the Soviet Union. The aircraft has a variable sweep wing, twin engines and side-by-side seating for a crew of two. It was the first aircraft of the USSR that had an integrated digital navigation and attack system. The Su-24 began to be developed in the early 1960s and first flew in 1967. It first entered service in 1974, and production ceased in 1993. It remains in service with the Russian Air Force, the Syrian Air Force, the Ukrainian Air Force, the Algerian Air Force, and various other air forces to which it has been exported.
