Prefab model 1/48 plane XA2D-1 Skyshark early version Clear Prop! CP4802 This is a set of die-cast plastic model airplanes. This is the world's first 1/48 scale Skyshark injection kit! The A2D Skyshark is a turboprop carrier-based aircraft developed by Douglas for the United States Navy. The XA2D prototype, which first flew in 1950, uses the tail wings of the A-1 Skyraider, but the fuselage and main wings have been redesigned due to engine replacement. Significant performance improvements were seen over the A-1, and more than 300 Skysharks were ordered, but the Navy canceled the order in 1952 due to the poor reliability of the engine, which had a complex design. Two prototypes of the XA2D-1 and 10 production versions of the A2D-1 were built. Details such as the cockpit, landing gear, intake and exhaust pipes are realistically reproduced, and the main wing can be assembled both folded and unfolded.
