The Grumman OV-1 Mohawk is an American reconnaissance and surveillance aircraft with STOL (short take-off and landing) capabilities in service with the United States Army. The flight of the prototype took place on April 14, 1959. The plane was produced in several modifications (from A to D), which differed in engine power, wingspan and, above all, various radio-electronic equipment. The A version was powered by a pair of Lycoming T53-L-3 engines, which were replaced by the Lycoming T53-L-701 in the C version. The OV-1 Mohawk was used extensively during the Vietnam War and, to a lesser extent, during the operation "Storm in the desert". OV-1 users outside the US include Israel and Argentina. Technical data (OV-1D version): Maximum speed: 724 km/h, rate of climb: 17.5 m/s, maximum ceiling 7620 m, maximum range: 1520 km.
