KrAZ-257B is a heavy Soviet (produced by KrAZ, Ukraine) 6x4 truck, produced from 1965 to 1995 (modification "B" - from 1977 to 1994). It became famous for its exceptional reliability, durability and ability to transport large loads in difficult conditions.
The KrAZ-257B was the main "workhorse" for civilian needs in the USSR and the Warsaw Pact countries, and was also actively exported. It was used in construction, quarries, for transporting heavy equipment and towing trailers. Unlike the more all-wheel drive KrAZ-255B, the 6x4 257B was more focused on paved roads, but still maintained good cross-country ability thanks to its powerful engine (usually the YaMZ-238 V8) and robust construction. The KrAZ-257B can still be found in service today, a testament to its durability and reliability.
